Sea Eagles Captain Daly Cherry-Evans say he's impressed with the teams position, considering over a 'million dollars is not playing' this year.

"I think it's something that has gone very unnoticed, what this club has been able to do with restraints around the salary cap is a bloody big effort", Cherry-Evans Said.

"We're at the halfway mark and in a good position to put ourselves in finals contention, yeah it's exciting but we won't get too far ahead of ourselves".

The Half-back then added that the Newcastle Knights are not to be taken lightly despite their position on the ladder.

"They have a lot of potential in this side to put a lot of points on", he said.
