Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will play five of their first seven premiership matches at Lottoland in 2017.
The 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership draw sees the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles a major benefactor in terms of team preparation, turnaround of matches, and a schedule of fixtures in far more suitable timeslots for Members and their families.
From a football perspective, the NRL has responded positively to the club’s player welfare concerns from this season with the Sea Eagles receiving one five-day turnaround compared with four in 2016.
Furthermore, the Brookvale Oval home games have been allocated for either a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday in family friendly afternoon and early evening timeslots.
Sea Eagles Chairman Scott Penn said the club was very pleased with the outcome of the draw.
“The NRL has responded to our disappointment over last year’s draw, providing a vastly improved outcome for our players, Members and fans,’’ Mr Penn said.
“With the release of the draw, this is a fantastic opportunity now for supporters who are not yet Members to make their commitment to the club and truly get behind Coach Trent Barrett and the players as we strive for a far better season in 2017.”
Manly Warringah will also play two home games away in 2017. The Sea Eagles will again take on the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium as part of the second annual Double Header blockbuster and will also return to nib Stadium in Perth to tackle the New Zealand Warriors.
