It has been a big week for the family of Sea Eagles centre Steve Matai.

On Wednesday night, Steve was made a Life Member of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in recognition of his outstanding service since making his first grade and club debut in round 3 of the 2005 season.

Matai has played 222 games for the Sea Eagles and 12 Test matches for New Zealand.

Yesterday, Steve's partner Kate, gave birth in Manly Hospital to the couple’s third child, a boy – a baby brother to Isaiah and Roman. The couple are still deciding on a name for their newborn son.

Matai will return to training on Monday to prepare for the round one blockbuster against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Brookvale Oval on Friday, March 4.

Congratulations Steve and Kate from the Sea Eagles family.
