Federal Member for Mackellar, the Hon Bronwyn Bishop MP, has today lent her strong support of the Sea Eagles ‘Fight for Brookie’ campaign.

An avid Sea Eagles supporter, Mrs Bishop met with CEO Joe Kelly to discuss the Club’s battle with Warringah Council over the hiring fees issue for Brookvale Oval this season and the Club’s plans for a stage 1 grandstand & community facility development on the Eastern side of Brookvale Oval.

Mrs Bishop then met Coach Trent Barrett and the players after training and was taken on a tour of the Sea Eagles facilities.

Mrs Bishop spoke positively of her support for the Sea Eagles against Warringah Council.

“The Sea Eagles are part of our Peninsula pride,’’ Mrs Bishop said.

“Brookie Oval is their only home and that’s where they want and need to be and will remain.

“They have the community at heart and my support to find a fair solution.

“I look forward to seeing them win at Brookie Oval in 2016.”

Sea Eagles CEO Joe Kelly said the club was honoured to host Mrs Bishop.

“It was wonderful to have Mrs Bishop take a tour of our training base today,’’ Kelly said.

“Mrs Bishop is looking forward to attending a number of home games this season at Brookvale Oval, and mentioned on the occasions that she attended last season, our win rate was 100%”.

“I have encouraged Mrs Bishop to attend all games in 2016!”
