Tickets are on sale now for the ‘Pre-season at the Park’ clash between the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the Ipswich Jets.

A large crowd is anticipated for what is shaping up to be one of the biggest pre-season matches of 2016 featuring two very attacking rugby league teams at Pittwater Park, Warriewood, on Saturday, February 20, at 6pm.

Manly Warringah Coach Trent Barrett, and Ipswich co-coaches Ben and Shane Walker, have already confirmed they will play their best players as the match will be the final pre-season hit out for both sides before their respective seasons begin.

For Sea Eagles supporters, it will be the chance to see the new look Manly Warringah side following an aggressive recruitment campaign.

The match is the first local opportunity for supporters to watch new signings Marty Taupau, Lewis Brown, Nate Myles, Dylan Walker, Darcy Lussick, Apisai Koroisau and Matt Parcell  For Parcell, it will be a case of lining up against his former Jets team-mates for the first time.

The Ipswich Jets captivated the rugby league world this year with their unique attacking play under the Walker brothers, going on to win the Queensland Cup and National Champions.

Their entertaining style, which often comprises of short kick-offs and running backwards if needed when on the attack, saw the Jets earn the nickname of the ‘Harlem Globetrotters of Rugby League’.

The Sea Eagles are also thrilled to return to Pittwater Park after hosting a successful trial match at the venue earlier this year, and are now working hard with the Warringah Rugby Club, Pittwater Park’s permanent tenant, to build on the success of the 2015 trial.

“We were astonished at the size of the crowd that turned up for our Pittwater Park trial against the Cronulla Sharks earlier this year,’’ said Manly Warringah CEO Joe Kelly.

“It was an incredible atmosphere and wonderful to see so many mums, dads and kids enjoying the event. We’re expecting an enormous turnout for the Jets match.”

Supporters are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets now at a discount price.

Paid parking will be available at a cost of $5 with entry via Walsh Street.
