The ‘Godfather’ of Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, Ken Arthurson, predicts 2016 will be a very exciting year for the maroon and white.

Arthurson was the special guest at the launch of the 70th Year Anniversary of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

It is 69 years to the day – November 4, 1946 – that the NSWRL granted the Sea Eagles entry to the 1947 first grade competition.

Arthurson received a warm welcome as he spoke about the link with the Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club, his playing days with the Sea Eagles, his administration days, and the excitement of the 2016 season.

“Manly have been one of the great clubs of the league and I am very proud to have been a part of it,’’ Arthurson said.

“I really think with the side coming out next year and the coach, Trent Barrett, has enormous wraps on him, I genuinely think Manly will be up there at the finish next year.”
