Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are expecting a huge crowd at Brookvale Oval this Friday night, August 7, for the blockbuster home match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The Sea Eagles sit two points outside the top eight while the Rabbitohs will be looking to cement their position in the top four with five weeks until the Finals series.

A highlight of the match will be the return to Brookvale Oval of former Premiership winning Sea Eagles back-rower Glenn Stewart. It will be the first time Glenn has played at Brookvale Oval against his brother Brett since joining the Rabbitohs this season.

The Sea Eagles attracted their biggest home crowd of the season at last week’s Gosford match with over 16,000 attending to witness the big win over the Broncos. The Club is hoping their army of supporters will break that record at their spiritual home ground of Brookvale Oval for the Souths clash.

Tom Jamsek, Manly Warringah’s Membership, Ticketing and Operations Manager, said the match has already attracted very strong pre-sales.

“This is shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the season,’’ Jamsek said.

“Both teams play an attractive style of rugby league and feature a wealth of Origin and Test players.

"The Sea Eagles are encouraging supporters planning to attend the game to pre-purchase their tickets and avoid potential queues at Brookvale Oval on Friday night. The easiest way to buy tickets is online at www.ticketmaster.com.au. Those pre-purchasing also receive a discount on ticket prices.”

Manly Warringah Captain Jamie Lyon called on supporters of both sides to be in attendance.

“We are coming off two very big wins over the Warriors and the Broncos and there is plenty of confidence and self-belief within the team,’’ Lyon said.

“To be back at Brookvale Oval and against the defending premiers will be a special occasion. We always have great battles with the Rabbitohs and this one promises to be no different as we look to take another positive step towards the Finals.

“Souths always have a good following and we just need to make sure there are plenty of Sea Eagles jumpers and flags at ‘Fortress Brookvale’ to match them. It is a great feeling to run out to a sea of maroon and white at your home ground.”

There are no excuses not to wear the maroon and white at Friday night’s match with the Club offering a special $99 price on the team’s 2015 Home, Away, Nines, Anzac and Community jerseys at Brookvale Oval only.
