Coach Geoff Toovey is confident Queensland half-back Daly Cherry-Evans will back up for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles on Friday night.
Cherry-Evans was the Sea Eagles’ only representative in the second Origin match won by NSW at the MCG last night.
Toovey said it was more than just the physical side of the game that takes its toll on players backing up quickly from an Origin match.
“Mentally it is very draining. There is a very big lead up to the game during the week and there are a lot of obligations and media focus,’’ Toovey said this morning.
“After a loss, it does bring you down a little bit. I think the best thing (Daly) can do is brush the cobwebs off from Wednesday night and back that up with a win.”
Toovey also expected Wests Tigers’ NSW players in hooker Robbie Farah and prop Aaron Woods to play on Friday night at Brookvale Oval.
“Both played really well last night and hopefully they got all their good play out of their system,’’ Toovey added.
“They will be on a high (from winning) and will be looking to carry that form into the game.”
Toovey also confirmed five-eighth Kieran Foran will play after missing training on Tuesday afternoon with the flu.
Supporters have until midnight tonight (Thursday) to purchase $20* GA adult price and $50 Family GA tickets for the clash against the Wests Tigers.
