Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be requesting a report from the New Zealand Rugby League medical staff in relation to the hamstring injury suffered by Kieran Foran in the ANZAC Test match played on Sunday, May 3.
The Kiwis were informed of Manly’s concerns over Foran’s on-going hamstring issues prior to the ANZAC Test but he was cleared to play. He then suffered another hamstring injury in the first half in New Zealand’s win.
Toovey said Foran will be out for at least ‘3-4 weeks’.
“I am a bit disappointed how things eventuated in the second half. Hopefully there wasn’t any more damage done (as a consequence of him continuing to play on in the second half),'' Toovey said.
"Kieran was playing for his nation and didn’t want to let anyone down. He was fighting hard to get back out there in the second half.
“We understand Kieran’s approach to Test matches, and particularly, playing Australia. He wants to get one up on the Australians. I just have to find out exactly as to how he was treated and what the prognosis was before he went back on the field."
