2014 marked Brenton Lawrence’s second year in the maroon and white. A strong, powerful and quick front rower, Lawrence was one of the most consistent performers for Geoff Toovey this season.

Manly’s Best and Fairest was rewarded with selection in the Queensland emerging Origin squad earlier in the year before most recently being selected to play for the Prime Minister’s XIII against the Kumuls on October 12.

In a year full of milestones for the club, Lawrence brought up his 50th game in the semi final clash against the Rabbitohs, and has only missed three games since moving to the northern beaches at the start of 2013.

Lawrence averaged 11 runs for 93 metres this year and played all bar two matches. A knee injury kept the forward out of action in round 25 and 26 before returning for the finals.

Lawrence averaged 30 tackles and became a leader of the Manly forward pack. He will be looking to build on his front row partnership with Josh Starling as they look to continue the Manly dynasty well into the future.
