2014 marked Steve Matai’s 10th season at the Sea Eagles. He brought up his 200th game for the club in round 25 against the Panthers at Brookvale Oval.

It was another superb season for the former New Zealand International.  He scored 13 tries and kicked four goals to finish the season with 60 points.

He ended the season with an impressive nine try assists, highlighting his value to Manly’s attacking prowess.

His uncompromising style of play in both attack and defence continues to strike fear into opposition teams.

Matai started the season like a house on fire.  He scored four doubles in the first six rounds, including the match winner in the final minutes of round three against Parramatta at Brookvale Oval.

Matai is one of the most respected centres in the NRL competition, and his combination with fullback Brett Stewart, who sent him over for a number of tries this year, was nothing short of outstanding.
