Daly Cherry-Evans says he remains hopeful of recovering in time to take on NSW in Origin Two next Wednesday night, despite still being in a knee brace and not training with this Queensland team mates yet.

“Confident is not a word I would use”.

“Hopeful is a word I would use,” he said. “It is in a brace at the moment so there is still time left and improvement left.

“If I go into the game not 100 per cent there will definitely be a chance of further injury.

“Most of the damage was done last Friday night. The call won’t be up to me. The end call will come down to the medical staff and Mal and how much time he gives me to be right.”
