Rd 9 Preview: Manly vs Wests Tigers

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be chasing a third straight victory in the NSWRL Jersey Flegg Cup at 4 Pines Park this Saturday.

The Sea Eagles tackle the Wests Tigers in the first game of a triple header in what is shaping up to be a huge day of rugby league in front of an anticipated large crowd at Brookvale.

Following a slow start to the season, the Sea Eagles have again shown what this very talented side is truly capable of in recent weeks, including an impressive 24-22 away win over the Cronulla Sharks a fortnight ago.

Manly then backed it up with a 20-12 win over Souths at Redfern Oval last week.

The return of key playmakers in full-back Kaeo Weekes, half-back Jamie Humphreys, and hooker Gordon Chan Kum Tong have certainly made a big impact on the team with the Sea Eagles set to field their strongest team on Saturday.

Weekes is in the Manly NRL top 30 squad while Chan Kum Tong and Humphreys are Sea Eagles Development players.

The Sea Eagles also will be hoping it will be a case of third time lucky too when they play before the NRL game, with their two wins coming on the same day before the first-grade match against the Bulldogs and the Sharks.

Former Manly NRL squad player Sione Fainu and ex-Sea Eagles player Jamie Lawler will line up for the Tigers.
