Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have emphatically denied any interest at all in signing former Penrith and Leeds Rhinos hooker James Segeyaro.

Reports today that Manly were keen to sign Segeyaro are simply not true.

“Manly had never ever contemplated signing Segeyaro as he had never been on the club’s radar,’’ said Manly’s Head of Football Bob Fulton.

“James is a good player but with the signing of Jackson Hastings, we feel we have the number nine spot covered with Apisai Koroisau, Lewis Brown, and now Jackson in our top 25.

“I don’t know where the Segeyaro story came from. I don’t want Manly fans to go into Christmas thinking we will sign James when there is no chance. We are not interested.

“It was never raised at our meetings in the past six weeks.”
