The Sea Eagles will be looking to exact revenge from the Panthers after the Northern Beaches side suffered a 22-12 loss against the side from out west in Round 6 of the current season.

The match was played at Pepper Stadium but Monday night football returns to Brookvale Oval and Manly are coming off the back of a 30-10 win over the Newcastle Knights.

The Panthers will be having nightmares about returning to Brookvale Oval after the Sea Eagles recorded an epic win in Round 25 of last year’s competition. Tom Symonds scored a last minute try to snatch a last gasp 26-25 win that sent the Silvertails to the top of the table.

This week in our Head2Head we have the battle of the fullbacks. The Prince of Brookvale, fresh from scoring his 151st try for the Manly Sea Eagles against the Newcastle Knights will go up against one of the NRL’s brightest prospects in Penrith Panthers fullback Matt Moylan.

Stewart only needs one more try to become Manly’s all-time leading try scorer in NRL competition history. Steve ‘Beaver’ Menzies currently holds that record with Stewart on 151 tries. The former Wollongong junior was at his clinical best at Brookvale Oval last weekend against the Knights, scoring two tries in the 30-10 win over the Novocastrians.

The match up is a case of youth meets experience with Moylan highly regarded as the one of the NRL’s best young fullbacks. He has already made his presence known to Manly fans after the Penrith youngster scored two tries in the Round 6 match at Pepper Stadium earlier this year. Stewart did not feature in the 22-12 defeat by the side from out west as he was a late withdrawal with a groin injury.

Stewart, with over eight appearances and five tries at Origin level for New South Wales, possesses a wealth of experience compared to Moylan. The Penrith fullback is widely tipped to feature for the NSW side in the not too distant future but he faces quality competition for the fullback position.

The stage is set for fans to witness history as Stewart looks to become Manly’s all time leading try scorer in the NRL competition. Make sure you’re there to cheer the mighty Sea Eagles on as they look to climb the table.
