Three Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players have today been named in the Samoa squad for the World Cup.

Winger Matthew Wright, half Pita Godinet, and second-rower Frank Winterstein will represent Samoa in the tournament starting later this month.

Wright (pictured) has previously represented Samoa against Tonga and Fiji where he played full-back, wing, and centre.

He played 15 matches for the Sea Eagles this season, kicking 36 goals and scoring six tries.

Godinet, who will not be with the Sea Eagles next season, has represented Samoa 11 times already.

Winterstein had a fine season for the Sea Eagles with the strong edge runner playing in all 25 matches.

His form saw him rewarded with a new two-year-deal that will keep Winterstein at Manly until the end of 2019.

He has already represented Samoa on eight previous occassions.
