The Manly Sea Eagles are pleased to announce that they have locked in outstanding local junior Brad Parker for the next two seasons.

Parker, who is still eligible to play Holden Cup, has shown great promise in a handful of starting opportunities with the NRL side.

He was outstanding in Manly's 36-18 win over the Sydney Roosters at Lottoland on Sunday, scoring a determined second half try as left centre.

The former Christian Brothers Manly junior was one of four local juniors in Sunday's side alongside Jake and Tom Trbojevic and Darcy Lussick.

Parker was injured during a wrestling session in the last off season and had a late start to the 2017 season.

Coach Trent Barrett was so impressed with Parker's off season training attitude that he had him pencilled in as a possible starting player before he was injured.

"Brad took his opportunity well against the Roosters after being 18th man for several weeks.

"He can handle centre and wing without any problems and his team mates have confidence in him. There is no doubt he is set for a long career at Manly where he has come through the junior representative teams into grade," Barrett said.

Parker made his debut in the NRL in torrential rain last season against the New Zealand Warriors in Perth where he did a great job in marking giant veteran Manu Vatuvei.

Parker is delighted to sign his first senior contract with the club he has followed all his life.

"I loved cheering on the Sea Eagles with my family and friends as a kid.Jamie Lyon was my hero and to be able to train and play in a few games with him last year was awesome.

I'm stoked to be given an opportunity at such a great club,"Parker said.
