Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are hoping to have second-rower Curtis Sironen back on the field by round 26 of the Telstra Premiership season.

Results of scans taken yesterday revealed Sironen has a tear in his pectoral muscle after suffering the injury in the win over Cronulla on Sunday. He will undergo surgery today.

Sironen will then begin his rehabilitation program with the Manly medical staff.

It is an unfortunate blow to the team as Sironen has been in superb form for the Sea Eagles in his first season with the club.

Curtis Sironen stats

14 games, 5 tries, 1023 minutes, 121 runs, 1040 metres, 4 line breaks, 1 try assist, 25 offloads, 359 tackles, 22 tackle breaks.
