Sea Eagles centre Brian Kelly has been praised for a nice act of kindness in Gunnedah.

In the lead up to the final City-Country match in Mudgee, Kelly and some of the Indigenous NRL players visited Winanga-Li Aboriginal Child and Family Centre, where Brian met seven-year-old Cooper.

The Club received this letter from Cooper’s mum, Karrin.

'Cooper was so excited to go meet the players, especially Brian Kelly as he is a HUGE Manly fan. He was the youngest kid at the meet and greet. Cooper is a very shy boy and was a bit intimidated by the older kids and the players themselves.

After the players spoke to the group, Cooper went up to Brian to get a signature on his footy but Brian did one better. He sat back down and signed Cooper's footy and had a chat with him, making my son’s day.

Brian spoke to him about footy, asking him if he played, how long he's played for, and if he was going to play in the NRL one day.

My son opened right up to Brian, telling him that this was his fourth year playing junior league and that his goal is to play for Manly Sea Eagles when he is old enough.

They talked for a fair while. I honestly cannot express how much this moment of time Brian Kelly took to talk and listen to Cooper meant to this shy Manly mad boy.

To Brian, thank you for taking that moment of time to make a little boy’s day. You honestly don't know how much it not only meant to my son, but to this mother.

I wanted to share the positivity the club and players like Brian can bring to the game and the kids, especially the rural kids.

I'd love for you to share this around on the Manly website and social media channels.'

Regards, Karrin Lane.
