Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles Coach Pat Weisner is hoping the heavy flooding that has prevented his team from doing ball work this week might prove a blessing in disguise at Lottoland on Saturday.

The Sea Eagles remain winless after three rounds of the Intrust Super Premiership, suffering a 52-8 loss to Wentworthville Magpies last Sunday.

“The flooding has made it really tough and we haven’t been able to get on the fields,’’ Weisner said.

“We are hoping by not training it gives the guys some fresh legs after last week.

“The boys are determined to make amends and want to show our supporters they are much better than that loss last week.

“I don’t think the scoreline against Wenty reflected the game. They were really good in the second half but we beat ourselves early on in the game.

“After a loss like that, it comes down to a mental thing. If they have the right attitude, then not training this week won’t be an issue.”

A former Bulldogs lower grade player, Weisner knows what to expect against Canterbury.

“They are always tough, they are always fit, and they will give you nothing. That’s their culture,’’ he added.

“The Bulldogs also haven’t won a game yet, so they are going to be desperate too. We have been looking forward to playing this game as part of a triple header and we want to put in a good performance at Lottoland, especially with the match on television. It is important we bounce back well.”

Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles will again field a strong side with the likes of Matthew Wright, Jono Wright, Cameron Cullen, Pita Godnet, Shaun Lane, and Jarrad Kennedy having plenty of NRL experience between them.
