Respected Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Captain Jamie Lyon spoke to Sea Eagles TV following his sudden announcement to retire at the end of this season.

Lyon informed his team-mates of his decision prior to kick-off against Newcastle Knights on Sunday.

Watch the video above to hear Jamie talk about the decision, the special memories from his playing career, to the great honour of captaining the Sea Eagles.

Lyon made his debut for Manly against Canberra Raiders at Brookvale Oval in the opening round of the 2007 season.

He played five-eighth in the 40-0 win over Melbourne Storm in the 2008 NRL Grand Final and led the team from the centres as captain in the 2011 Grand Final win over the Warriors.
