The Golden Eagles, the Club’s official former player group, is calling on Manly Members and supporters to march with them to Brookvale Oval on Sunday 23 August.

The Club has decided to establish an annual ‘Golden Eagles Day’ to recognise former Manly Warringah players. The Golden Eagles will participate in an inaugural march from the Leagues Club to Brookvale Oval, culminating in a lap of honour on-field prior to the blockbuster clash with the Parramatta Eels.

Golden Eagle President Mark Bryant is encouraging all Sea Eagles Members and fans to join the march.

“This is a fantastic initiative to recognise our past Sea Eagles. We’re expecting upwards of 150 former players and we’d love as many of our maroon and white supporters to join us for the walk to Brookie,” Bryant said.

“This is a march that recognises our history, from our social home of the Manly Leagues Club to our spiritual home of Brookvale Oval, with players of all eras that have represented the Sea Eagles.

“Golden Eagles participating in the march will include Cliff Lyons, Danny Moore, Max Krillich, Alan Thompson, Bill Hamilton, Dave Hosking, John Bucknall, Ronny Gibbs, Steve Knight, Michael Robertson and Josh Perry among many others.”

The march will be led by Kyocera Drummers to create some atmosphere, and all participants are encouraged to wear their maroon and white and to pre-purchase their tickets to avoid queues at the gates.
