Full-back Brett Stewart admits 2015 has been one of the toughest seasons he has experienced.

With the speculation over the future of coach Geoff Toovey now resolved, Stewart said it was business as usual as the Sea Eagles prepares for competition leaders Brisbane at Central Coast Stadium, Gosford, this Saturday night.

“Geoff is the coach here for the next six weeks and then hopefully into the semis. We will support him and the club has made a decision,’’ Stewart said.

“We have a new coach here next year and we will support him when that happens.”

Stewart said off-field issues combined with some disappointing results had made life tough.

“The club is not used to being down the bottom of the table,'' he said.

“It is always tough here at Manly. I have been here for 13 years and I don’t think we have had a normal week yet.

“This year has probably been a little bit more challenging than most. When our backs are against the wall, we seem to go pretty good.”

Stewart said the players remain focused on making the finals and dismissed talk Toovey had lost support of the dressing room.

“It is definitely hard. We are not stepping away from that. We need to win our next six games and that is what we are concentrating on,’’ he said.
