Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will return to Brookvale Oval this Sunday after being given the green light from the NRL this afternoon.

Warringah Council closed Brookvale Oval from March 27 to April 7 to allow the playing surface to undergo maintenance and chemical treatment.

Council took action to restore the condition of the Brookvale Oval playing surface following concerns raised after the round three NRL match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

NRL officials met with representatives from the Sea Eagles and council at Brookvale Oval this morning to inspect the surface. The NRL were satisfied with the recovery of the grass and the playing field.

The match against Newcastle is Manly’s first Sunday afternoon game for 2015 and the first at Brookvale Oval in seven weeks.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, the Sea Eagles are offering a family of four the chance to enjoy the action on Brookvale Oval hill for just $50  – a saving of $27.

Gates open at 12.45pm. NRL kick-off is 2pm. The NYC game against Newcastle scheduled for Sunday has been transferred to Henson Park at 11am Saturday to protect the surface for the NRL game following the recent heavy weather experienced on the Northern Beaches.
