Warringah Council and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are taking action to restore the condition of the Brookvale Oval playing surface following concerns raised on Friday night.

Council has agreed to close Brookvale Oval from this Friday 27 March until Tuesday 7 April 2015.

This will allow the playing surface to undergo maintenance and chemical treatment to restore root growth. The match last Friday evening was the second game played on the night, and followed five games being played at the venue the previous weekend.

The closure of the field will assist recovery and sustainability of the playing surface.

The Sea Eagles will move a number of Holden Cup, VB NSW Cup and Junior Representative games from Brookvale Oval during this time.

Council and the Sea Eagles apologise for the any inconvenience this temporary closure will cause.
