The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will kick off their 2015 trial schedule with a clash against the Cronulla Sharks at Pittwater Park on February 7th, 2015.

Working in conjunction with Pittwater Council and with approval from the Warringah Rats Rugby Union club, the venue will be transformed in to a fun filled, family friendly venue for Sea Eagles Members, fans and the community to enjoy.

The day will feature both the NRL and Holden Cup sides taking on the best footballers the Shire has to offer, as well as a kids zone, pass-the-ball area, membership, community and corporate information tents and player meet and greets.

It’s been decades since the Sea Eagles have played at the peninsula venue, but with the recently resurfaced Brookvale Oval out of action due to the Central Coast Mariners playing an A-League fixture against Adelaide United on the same day, CEO Joe Kelly said the Club had to look at their options, but in the end didn’t need to look very far.

“It is our only local trial, so we wanted to ensure it was kept within the Northern Beaches community,” CEO Joe Kelly said.

“Pittwater Park was the obvious choice as it ticked all the boxes. It’s local, family friendly and will allow us to put on a fantastic fan day for our Members, supporters, family, friends and anyone who simply wants to come down and enjoy their afternoon at a uniquely local event.”

The sentiment was echoed by Sea Eagles Head Coach Geoff Toovey, who added the squad will be itching to go after a long but impressive preseason.

“It’s great to see us remaining local but heading that little bit further north on the peninsula,” said Toovey.

“The squad has worked extremely hard in the off-season and will be ready to get on with playing footy by then, so hopefully we can get as many people as possible to come down, enjoy the afternoon, mingle with some players and cheer us on to a win.”
