Sea Eagles coach has given his thoughts on the make up to the 2015 NRL draw which was announced today. See his thoughts below or hit play on the above video.

THE DRAW IS OUT, SO SIGN UP, CHEER LOUDLY AND MAKE US STRONGER TOGETHER IN 2015

Q: So Geoff, the NRL draw has been released. What are your initial thoughts?

“No system is perfect but I’m glad it’s out there.”

“We’ve got some early home games which is great, we’re playing teams twice in a period of two or three weeks which is a bit strange but we also come home with a lot of home games also so it could be handy for us.”

Q: It’s an exciting start to the season. We take on Parramatta and a few former players that used to be at the Club, do you think there will be a bit of extra incentive in this one?

A: “I don’t think so but obviously TV (NINE) have picked that game for obvious reasons. I think it will be a great game out at Parramatta there and then I think we’ve got the Storm and the Bulldogs shortly after that.”

“Pretty tough start of the year, but we’re pretty confident, particularly those home games, that we’ll be in a good position.”

Q: We have four of the six last games at home, which is a bit different to this year when we had quite a few away games at the end of the season. Is that something the team can look forward to building in to the final series?

A: “Well based on last year’s results at Brookvale Oval, I think we won nine out of ten. And that one game we lost by one point, which was our first game of the season against Melbourne and we should of won that won as well.”

“Having that home team advantage at Brookvale Oval I think is a massive advantage, especially coming in to semi-finals time - if we are close to that top position.”

Q: A little bit of travel to negate in there too?

A: “Particularly when you double up. You know, I think at one stage we’re at North Queensland and the next week up at Brisbane.”

“There’s a bit of travel there but we’ll handle that OK this year and with the draw being out we’ll get things in place now for those months ahead.”

Q: Finally, can you see us going to our 11th straight final series this year?

A: “I don’t see why not. I think we’ve got the team to do it and hopefully we can push a few more games down the track then last year.

“We’re quietly confident. No draw is perfect, but it’s reasonable and I think we’ll do well.”
