CEO Joe Kelly sits down with Sea Eagles TV to share his thoughts on the 2015 NRL Draw.

What are your initial thoughts of the 2015 NRL draw?

It’s never going to be perfect. There are 16 teams that need to be appeased, with lots of competition and conflicting interests, but at the end of the day it is what it is and we have to move forward.

There are some very positive announcements within it. Three blockbuster games to start with. One away to the Eels and then we’re home to the Storm and the Dogs, so it’s a great start to the season. Three big rivalries that we are really looking forward to.

The end of the season looks just as exciting as the beginning. What are your thoughts?

Out of the last six games we’ve got four at home. Hopefully we’re going to be in a good position by that stage of the year. Ultimately being at home at the back end of the season is a real good outcome for us. We’re delighted with that.

2015 Sea Eagles NRL Draw

We have to wait until round 16 to take on your former club and current premiers, South Sydney, Is this match up one that you are personally looking forward to?

Absolutely! That was one game when we looked at the fixture list and we had to take two games away from Brookvale, there was no way in the world we were taking that game.

That’s an absolute cracker of a game. I can’t wait personally for it and I know that playing it at our Fortress, Brookvale Oval, will be a very special day.

We have penciled in two games as TBC, the Raiders in round five and the Broncos in round 21. Can you give any insight as to where these may be played?

It’s too early at this stage. We only had the weekend to really resolve what two games to take away and we’ve decided that they’re the two games. We’re now working very hard and very diligently towards actually resolving where those games will be played in 2015.

And how do you see us going in 2015?

I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great year. There’s a very very good feeling inside the club both on and off the field. It’s a club that has got a lot of history and a lot of success, and the last 10 years has been right there at the top. I expect it to be exactly the same this year and we’re already building resources in the football area as well, so we want to see us progress as a cub both on and off the field.
