We caught up with fullback Brett Stewart while he and his teammates helped clear the fire trails for the NSW Parks and Wildlife Services at Mount Kuring-gai.

“I think it’s good to get away from Narrabeen for a couple of days and give a little bit back to the community. It’s quite enjoyable out here with the boys,” Stewart said.

“We haven’t run into any Snakes but yesterday we came across a funnel-web, so that was an eye opener. I’m glad we found it in the last 20 metres and not the first 20 metres, it would have been a slow day otherwise.”
