Good morning to all the Members, Corporate Partners and supporters of this great club.

It is an absolute privilege to address you today as I officially commence at the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

I am delighted to represent this Club as its CEO and I thank Scott, Rick & Heather Penn for giving me this amazing opportunity.

A defining moment occurred in the Sea Eagles history on the evening of Wednesday the 22nd of October, when the Penn family increased their shareholding in the Club to 89%. The corporate governance matters have now been resolved and everyone at the Club can now focus on taking the organisation forward in an environment devoid of politics.

Scott Penn’s vision is simply to see this Football Club become a truly world class sporting organisation. This vision sets a challenge that I accept with enthusiasm and one I’m confident that we will deliver.

I will steadily go about providing additional resources and capability within the organisation. I have a clear view of what we require and I will start by adding human resources to compliment the wonderful staff that are already employed with the Club.

This experience will not only aim to deliver on Scott’s vision for the Club, but also to provide the necessary level of expertise required to redevelop our spiritual home, Brookvale Oval. A world class sporting organisation requires a world class stadium, and that is what we will be working tirelessly towards.

Resources are also required within the Football department to ensure our players perform to their best. To be honest, this Club has achieved staggering results over the past decade and my brief review is that they have achieved this on minimal budgets.

A priority from today will be the retention of key players beyond 2015, and as has been well documented, the negotiation to extend our two halves, Daly and Kieran, will be very important. They both deserve to have their down time after a very long season, and when they are rested and ready to commence discussions, we will be at the table. I don’t want to see these things linger too long into the new-year, as we need a fully settled and focused squad going into the 2015 season.

I’m very passionate about the Sea Eagles building a deeper connection with the community, and our first exciting announcement with respect to our community partnerships will be made this Wednesday.

It is really comforting to see Membership sales are tracking ahead of last year. You will have seen Beaver’s video last week which highlights that there is now no better time to sign on and make us Stronger Together in 2015 and beyond. Membership is a key pillar to our football club as it is your lasting support that is the lifeblood of the Club and will continue to assist us to be that world class sporting organisation.

I look forward to meeting and talking with many of you over the coming months and I promise to keep you updated with everything that is happening at the Sea Eagles now and in to the future.

Thank you and Go Manly!
