Sea Eagles winger David Williams remains positive he will start in the Sea Eagles first match of the 2014 season against the Storm this Saturday night.

Despite having yet to train alongside his teammates since severely bruising his knee at the Nines in Auckland three weeks ago, the flyer is hoping to take his place at the end of the Sea Eagles star-studded backline.

“Yeah, I should be right this week and I’m looking forward to it,”

“It’s definitely a relief. To go from six months to two weeks, it’s a lot better than first anticipated,” the winger understated.

“I haven’t run with the boys as of yet, but it’s only early in the week.”

Having remained fully-fit for the first full season in years as well as putting pen to paper with the club for another few years, the Clubs top try-scorer in 2013 is looking to improve once again.

“[My goal is] the same as every year; to play every game and improve on the year before.”

There will be someone, or rather something, missing if Williams does make Geoff Toovey’s final 17 on Saturday, his former sidekick and haircut Randee-Lee.

“She’s gone walkabout. She left me, but I’ve since taken on her step brother.”
