Eagle Eye: Sea Eagles shopping list

Right now your NRL Dream Team is either on fire and lapping the field or literally on fire and burning up, so your responsibility as a DT coach is to make sure you’re on top of the trends that savvy Dream Teamers are already cashing in on.

I've sat down and sorted the good from the not so good from a Dream Team perspective, all the while realising that game performance and Dream Team performance are not always linked, so keep that in mind if I tell you to dump your favourite player.

Jorge Taufua: WFB/CTR $77,100 @ 22 ppg
Taufua is an interesting concept as his scores may fool the untrained eye. Whilst he scored a brilliant 44 last week, his DT average is just 22 ppg due to a '0' against the Dragons, when he was only on the field for the dying moments . This means get on him now, as this week will technically be his third game and his price rise will follow. At just $77,100 he will free up money on your roster whilst making you money at the same time. His break-even is -5 this week so what have you got to lose?

Darcy Lussick: 2RF $143,400 @ 23 ppg
As a low-priced second-row forward Lussick is a great option to play a reserve or bench role without breaking your budget. Lussick makes plenty of tackles when on the field and is playing the third prop role for the Eagles. He won’t set the world alight but he’s a good ‘glue guy’ who allows you to spend your big money elsewhere. Any increase from his current 38.4 minutes per game will give him a chance to score big and add to the $11,700 he’s made so far.

Jamie Lyon: CTR $205,600 @ 37 ppg
A goal kicking centre is always a valuable commodity for your squad and whilst Lyon has dipped $5,500 the Manly skipper continues to score well and is capable of producing big scores on any given night. He comes back into the side after missing last week through injury - hold onto him and the rewards will come, especially when the Sea Eagles hit their stride.

Daniel Harrison Eagle Eye

| SELL |
Kieran Foran: HLF $187,300 @ 31 ppg
Foran (hamstring) plays in a side full of DT scorers, with the likes of Daly Cherry-Evans taking too many touches from the five-eighth to make him a Dream Team force. You are better off spending that money in a double trade and upgrading to a guy who can produce big numbers. On the other hand, if you can afford to have him as a reserve, well played! He’s relatively cheap for a quality half, isn’t under threat and will consistently score you points in the early 30s - just don’t bank on him producing too many 50-60 point games.

| SELL |
Daniel Harrison: 2RF $108,300 @ 20 ppg
There comes a time when you’ve just got to break it off with a player, and whilst Harrison has held his value over the past four weeks, it’s time to let him go. Not only have his minutes dropped recently but the return of Glenn Stewart isn’t far off, meaning he will fight it out for a bench spot. Use your money to upgrade a position or work him into a double trade, either way do it now before his price drops again.
